In Ierapetra, the southernmost point of Europe, a region with a long tradition in horticulture, the “Anatoli” Agricultural Association was founded back in 2001. The association has been operating since 2009 as a recognized producer group. Currently, it has 200 members and is comprised of experienced certified growers of over 1250 hectares of greenhouse crops. The areas of our activities include fostering, organizing and monitoring of crops and preparation and marketing of fresh vegetables of high quality and nutritional value.

Our greenhouses are located in the broader Ierapetra area, the warmest in Europe, with beneficial climatic characteristics. During winter, the minimum temperatures are not less than 10°C, with daily sunshine. As a direct consequence, products are maturing in a natural way in the most ideal conditions.

For production, we use modern and technologically advanced lightweight greenhouse facilities where pant growth is performed in a completely controlled environment. The output is checked on a daily basis with respect to the use of pesticides and fertilization through the cooperation between producers and agriculturists. This is performed in strict compliance with the rules of proper use and safety. Additionally, the phytosanitary control is performed using IPM biological methods.

The quality and the safety of products is also secured with frequent residue analysis of active substances in accredited laboratories and with the traceability of products at all production stages (from of each individual plot to the final packaging and for each batch separately). This achieves optimized quality and quantity planning for the whole year.

Our list of products includes tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and eggplants with the possibility of producing all varieties of these species.

The application and certification of INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT and quality processes, together with the high expertise services offered by qualified personnel, has resulted in an annual increase of production at a rate of 10-12%.

The Association "Anatoli" is housed in modern premises of an area of 1300 m². These include spaces for product reception, processing, packaging and storage, as well as offices and staff rooms. The premises fully meet modern health and safety requirements regarding both staff and production. The Association possesses two refrigerators with varying levels of cooling, an automatic tomato packaging system (Flow Pack) and an automatic stretch film machine. Therefore, there is the possibility for any type of standardization and packaging according to customer requirements. The packaging capacity is 40 tons/day.

A constant and absolutely essential goal of the Association is to ensure high quality and nutritional value of foods, from the point of production to final consumption. According to the modern demands of international market and in line with the international standards, the Association is CERTIFIED based on quality assurance systems and standards such as GLOBAL GAP, AGRO 2.1 & 2.2, ISO 22000, ISO 9001 and CRETACERT.
